Yamayo Jersey

When we started making our samples, we realized that the technical aspects of terry we were envisioning were physically impossible to knit in the US due to knitting machine constraints. We did extensive research to find thicker, softer, more plush and luxurious terry and we finally landed in Wakayama, Japan. This is the only place in the world capable of knitting the extensive gauge that we wanted. From there, finding a fabric mill was relatively easy and we landed on Yamayo Jersey.
Rooted in history and tradition, Yamayo Jersey, was established in 1964. Their expertise is focused on producing high gauge jersey as well as low gauge knits, working mostly with natural fibers ranging from organic cotton to recycled cotton as well as cashmere, silk and linen. They have several types of knitting machines to respond to the different needs of their clients, including twisting textured machines and circular knitting machines. They continually challenge themselves to try new things even when it seems technically impossible, and create new textiles that don't yet exist on the market. This pursuit has led them to working with the top fashion houses across the globe.
